SANDPRO

SandPro has been named the North Dakota Petroleum Council’s (NDPC) Member of the Year for the company’s consistent dedication to the energy sector and the positive impact they have had within their industry and local community.

Based in Berthold, ND, SandPro is a solutions-driven company specializing in wellhead services, sand management, and oilfield automation across the Bakken region. With a strong focus on automation control, valve control, and well control, the company prides itself on offering a high level of customer service and innovation to bring new products to their clients. SandPro boasts a workforce of over 100 employees from across the U.S., all united by a family-oriented culture and a commitment to safety as reflected in their internal “Safety Person of the Month” recognition program.

Since joining the NDPC in 2021, SandPro has been an active participant in NDPC events and initiatives. Co-Founder and VP, Josh Blackaby, serves as a board member and contributes to several key committees, including the Safety Committee and the ONE BASIN-One Way! Advisory Committee. Other SandPro leaders, such as Drew Anderson, Director of Automated Solutions and Project Development, and CEO Jake Feil are involved in the NDPC Technical Solutions Group, which is instrumental in addressing some of our industry’s greatest challenges in North Dakota.

In 2023, SandPro was one of the first companies to participate as a pilot employer for the Bakken GROW (Global Recruitment of Oilfield Workers) program, welcoming several Ukrainian workers into their team. HR Director, Heather Allard-Kotaska, played a pivotal role in guiding other pilot employers through the immigration process while helping integrate the new employees into the community, ensuring they felt welcomed and at home.

Beyond their involvement with the NDPC, SandPro and their employees are quick to volunteer, making significant contributions to the communities in which they operate, other industry groups, and the North Dakota Petroleum Foundation. They have actively participated in events like the STEM Expo, Bakken Rocks CookFest, and the “Planting for the Future” tree-planting initiative. Whether it’s sponsoring the local T-ball team, supporting wildlife organizations, backing Minot State University Boosters, or partnering with the Minot Chamber and EDC, SandPro has been a dedicated supporter of the community at all levels. SandPro’s dedication to both industry and community also shines through in their leadership roles in organizations like the API Bakken Chapter and their support for charitable causes like Companions for Children and Project Bee.

For their leadership, innovation, and dedication to the industry and community, SandPro is a well-deserving recipient of the NDPC Member of the Year award.
