ND Oil Activity – Preliminary production numbers for October 2016 are 1,043,207 (all-time high was December 2014) from 13,457 (NEW all-time high) wells and 1,715,487 (NEW all-time high) of natural gas. NDPC Legislative Committee – The NDPC Legislative Committee will meet at the Petroleum Council office in Bismarck and via conference call each Friday from 4-5 p.m. Central time during the 2017 North Dakota Legislative Session. The 2017 Session will begin January 4 and continue for 80 legislative days, likely wrapping up near the end of April. We encourage your participation and support as we approach a likely interesting legislative session. The purpose and goal of the NDPC Legislative Committee is to review, analyze and recommend positions on legislative bills and related issues to the NDPC Executive Committee. The NDPC Executive Committee will have final decision making authority on NDPC’s position on legislative bills and actions. Fund to Support Local Law Enforcement Created – In order to say thank you local law enforcement and help reduce the financial burden that area farmers, ranchers, national guardsmen and regional law enforcement entities have incurred related to are protests, the ‘Morton County Heroes Fund’ has been established. The fund will be managed by a board consisting of Julie Ellingson, North Dakota Stockmens Association Executive Director; Mary Graner, area rancher; and Dawn Rhone, Morton County Auditor. NDPC Mingle & Jingle held – Thanks to all NDPC members who attended the Mingle & Jingle social on December 8. A great time was had by all, and Lori Yantzer of the Bismarck Mandan Convention and Visitors Bureau was the winner of the Bakken basket door prize (pictured at right). Congratulations, Lori! Pipeline Safety Compliance Training – The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (US DOT) Transportation Safety Institute conducts Pipeline Safety Compliance Training specially designed for the energy industry. This course will familiarize participants with US DOT pipeline safety regulations and acute, critical, and serious safety violations. This course is designed to assist pipeline safety personnel with fewer than 10 years industry experience. If you are responsible for oversight of pipeline safety and regulatory compliance, this course will be invaluable to your success.
