Bakken GROW (Global Recruitment of Oilfield Workers) was a pilot program that attempted to address the oil and gas industry’s workforce shortage by recruiting Ukrainian citizens and other skilled out-of-country workers to fill long and short-term positions in North Dakota’s oilfield.

GROWING NORTH DAKOTA’S OIL AND GAS WORKFORCE

Through Bakken GROW, the North Dakota Petroleum Council served as an immigration liaison between its members and recruiting agencies and utilized the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) program, a humanitarian effort that is providing a legal pathway for Ukrainian citizens to come to the United States to live and work.
