Hoses offer an efficient way to transport water to hydraulic fracturing sites

By: Steve Kirch

MBI Energy Service has implemented a new way to transport water to it’s hydraulic fracturing sites, that is both more efficient and safer

Over the past few years MBI Energy Services has installed 35 miles of Lay Flat Hose to transport water to its service areas.

“The fracing business uses a lot of water, so the need for water on the well sites is important,” said Jeff Kostelecky, VP Water Transfer For MBI Energy Services.

The hoses are efficient.

“A day. . .  we can get about 90 barrels a minute through this ten inch line. We have had jobs where we push 60 to 70,000 barrels a day,” said Ben Stenberg, Field Supervisor for MBI Energy Services.
