Basin Conference Brings Oil Industry to Bismarck

In May, the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference will be held at the Bismarck Civic Center, along with around 2,000 attendees, from across the oil industry. The conference revolves around discussions and workshops on the drilling issues specific to the Williston Basin, and several technical aspects of the oil industry in the region. Sessions will cover different levels of exploration, production and transportation, and are tailored toward geologists, engineers and pipeline companies.

TransCanada to consider US pipeline 'onramp'

TransCanada executives said Wednesday they will consider letting Montana and North Dakota crude oil onto a proposed pipeline to the Gulf of Mexico, after hearing demand for such a project from U.S. oil producers. Calgary-based TransCanada Corp. aims to start construction this year on the 1,980-mile Keystone XL pipeline.
